An Indigenous Enterprise
Mixt Energy Ltd. is the general partner managing the Mixt Energy Exports Limited Partnership, owned by the McLeod Lake Indian Band. Mixt is developing a world-class hydrogen production facility on the reserve lands of the McLeod Lake Indian Band at its Tse’khene Energy Transition Hub. The site is located at Kerry Lake, B.C., approximately 100 kms north of the city of Prince George.
The lands are ideal for the large-scale production of both green and blue hydrogen due to the abundance of hydro power and natural gas being transported through the site. With close proximity to a major highway, railway, and pipelines, multiple options are being evaluated for transporting the product to the coast for export to Asia.
Mixt has partnered with Mitsubishi Power (Americas) to develop the project. Mitsubishi is a global leader in hydrogen project development and technology. The project is undergoing an initial feasibility assessment which should be completed by the end of 2023.
The projected value of the project exceeds $5 billion.
